ORLANDO SANFORD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT EXPANSION
GEC is providing geotechnical engineering for the planned expansion of Orlando Sanford International Airport (OSIA), one of the fastest growing airports in Florida. The $43 million airport expansion will accommodate four new gates, bringing the total number of gates to 16. Project plans also include three new baggage carousels, and additional passenger security lanes. Construction is slated to begin in 2017 and will be completed by 2020. In 2015, OSIA passenger traffic totaled 2.5 million, three times more traffic than six years ago.
