GEC provided environmental site assessments and geotechnical engineering for this 21-story, 1,200,000 sq ft office, residential and retail complex of 3 towers. The Plaza stands as the largest single redevelopment project in Orlando’s history. The project includes a 1,611 space, multi-level parking garage.
Complex site conditions in an urban infill setting included unknown environmental issues (underground tanks and buried debris), support of adjacent buildings, streets and utilities during foundation excavation, on-site stormwater treatment by means of exfiltration trenches, and installation of deep pile foundations adjacent to sensitive historic structures.
